Parent Visa (Subclass 103)

Identity Documents

• Current passport (showing photo, personal details, and issue/expiry dates)
• National identity card (if available)
• Proof of name change (marriage certificate, divorce decree, or relevant authority documents)

Sponsorship Documents

• Form 40 — Sponsorship for migration to Australia (completed by your sponsor)

Balance of Family Documents

• Birth certificates for each of your children
• Adoption papers (if applicable)
• Evidence of each child's Australian citizenship or permanent residence status
• Death certificates (for deceased children not to be counted)
• Court orders or other evidence that a child should not be counted

Character Documents

• Original police certificates from each country where you have lived for 12 months or more in the past 10 years
• Do not arrange police checks until the Department requests them

Health Documents

• Medical examination results (must be conducted within 12 months of application)
• Health insurance proof (if applying as a retiree)

Family Composition Documents

For dependent children under 18:

• Birth or marriage certificates
• Identity documents
• Character documents

For dependent children aged 18–23:

• Proof of financial dependency (tax records, proof of residence, study evidence)

For dependent children over 23:

• Proof of disability-related dependency

For a spouse or de facto partner:

• Marriage certificate, OR
• Evidence of 12+ months de facto relationship (joint bank statements, joint lease agreements, shared address documentation)

Assurance of Support Documents

• Assurance of Support form (provided by the Department when requested)
• Not required if applying as a retiree

Photographs

• 4 recent colour photographs (45mm × 35mm), less than 6 months old, full-face view against a plain light background

Translation and Certification

• All non-English documents must be translated into English by accredited translators (NAATI accreditation required for translators in Australia; overseas translators must include full name, address, phone number, and qualifications in English on each translation)
• All documents except original police certificates must be certified copies
