Documents Required
Proof of Identity
- Certified colour copy of the biometric page of your current, valid passport, certified by a solicitor, commissioner for oaths, peace commissioner, or notary public
- Certified copy of your birth certificate with a certified English translation if it is in another language
- You must establish identity by submitting identity documents with a combined point value of at least 150 points (using a predetermined points system)
Proof of Irish Association
- Certified copies of all documentation proving your Irish association, including:
- Birth certificates linking you to an Irish citizen (parent, grandparent, etc.)
- Marriage or civil partnership certificates
- Adoption certificates
- Entries from the Foreign Births Register
- Naturalisation certificates of your Irish relative
- Irish passport of your Irish relative
- Any other documents confirming the family relationship
Proof of Residence (if applicable)
If you have lived legally in Ireland, provide evidence such as:
- Passport stamps showing residence permissions
- Letters from Immigration Service Delivery confirming permission for specific dates
Certification and Translation
- All documents must be certified by a solicitor, commissioner for oaths, peace commissioner, or notary public
- Documents in languages other than English or Irish must be professionally translated and certified
