Documents Required
For Initial Application
- Copy of the award granted (degree certificate/parchment, completion letter, or final transcript confirming you have completed all required modules and dissertation)
- Biometric page of your current valid passport
- Immigration registration card (IRP card) indicating your current valid Stamp 2 permission
- Private health insurance purchased in Ireland (travel insurance is not accepted)
- €300 application fee
Do not wait for your graduation ceremony — you can use your official "Notification of Results" letter from the University's International Office or Registrar to meet the six-month deadline.
For Extension Application (Level 9+ Graduates Only)
- Biometric page of your current valid passport
- IRP card indicating your current Stamp 1G permission
- Private health insurance purchased in Ireland (not travel insurance)
- €300 fee
- Detailed evidence of having taken appropriate steps to access suitable graduate-level employment, such as letters from companies or recruitment agencies, job interview attendance records, or correspondence with graduate employment agencies
As of 2025, immigration officers apply high standards to extension applications — a simple request letter is no longer sufficient. Successful applications are typically highly detailed, well-structured, and supported by carefully prepared documents.
Document Format and Translation
For online applications, documents must be in PDF, PNG, or JPEG/JPG format with file size within 10 MB. Full translations of documents in English or Irish are required. Only government-issued certificates and IDs will be accepted.
