Documents Required
All documents must be originals. If your documents are not in Dutch, English, French, or German, they must be translated by a sworn translator. Depending on the issuing country, documents may also require an Apostille or legalization stamp to be recognized by Dutch authorities.

- Valid Residence Permit: Proof of your current lawful stay in the Netherlands (EU/EEA citizens may be exempt from holding a physical permit but must prove lawful residence).
- Birth Certificate: This must be registered in the Basisregistratie Personen (BRP - Personal Records Database) of your municipality. If it is not already registered, you must provide a legalized version.
- Marriage or Partnership Certificate: Required only if you are applying based on a 15-year relationship with a Dutch partner.
