The Partner of a New Zealander Resident Visa is a permanent immigration pathway for the spouses, civil union partners, or de facto partners of New Zealand citizens or residents. • Indefinite Stay: You have the right to live in New Zealand forever.
• Full Work Rights: You can work for any employer, in any occupation, anywhere in New Zealand.
• Domestic Study: You are eligible to study at New Zealand schools and universities at domestic student rates (rather than international rates).
• Travel Conditions: Your visa typically allows you to leave and re-enter New Zealand as a resident for two years. To maintain your travel rights indefinitely, you must apply for a Permanent Resident Visa after you have held your resident visa for two years.
• Family Inclusion: You may include your dependent children (aged 24 and under) in your residence application.
• Path to Citizenship: Time spent on this visa counts toward the presence requirements for New Zealand citizenship.
