Documents Required
You will need to gather evidence for both the sponsorship registration and the eventual visa application.
Identity and Relationship Documents
- Sponsor Proof of Status: New Zealand Passport, Citizenship Certificate, or Residence Visa.
- Proof of Relationship: Birth certificates, household registration documents, or UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) documents that prove the biological or legal link between the sponsor and the applicant.
- Identity for Applicants: Valid passports and birth certificates for the principal applicant and any included partner or dependent children.
Supporting Documents
- Accommodation Plan: The sponsor must provide a written plan demonstrating they have arranged adequate housing for the family members upon their arrival.
- Health and Character: Applicants must provide Medical Certificates (INZ 1007) and Chest X-ray Certificates (INZ 1096). Police Certificates are required for all applicants aged 17 and older to prove they are of good character.
- Translations: Any document not in English must be accompanied by a certified English translation.
