Eligibility Quiz
Requirements
Nationality and Visa-Free Entry
The most fundamental requirement is that you must be a national of a country that does not require a visa to enter Argentina as a tourist. This covers most Europeans, North Americans, Australians, New Zealanders, and citizens of many other countries. Nationals from countries requiring a visa to enter Argentina are ineligible. Check your country's status on the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs website before proceeding.
Remote Work and Income Source
You must work remotely or operate as a freelancer for companies or clients based entirely outside Argentina. Employment with Argentine companies is not permitted. Your income must originate entirely from foreign sources—you cannot engage in local freelance work for Argentine clients or take on any Argentine employment.
Financial Stability
While no official published minimum exists, applicants are typically expected to demonstrate stable monthly income of approximately USD $2,000 to $2,500. Some sources cite a lower unofficial guideline of USD $1,000–$1,500 per month. The key is proving you have consistent revenue to support yourself and won't need to seek local employment. Supporting evidence includes employment contracts with foreign companies confirming remote work status, freelance or service agreements with international clients, bank statements covering the past 3–6 months showing regular deposits, or documentation proving ownership of a foreign-registered business.
Criminal Record
You must have a clean criminal record in Argentina and in any country where you have resided for more than one year within the last three years. You'll need to submit official police clearance certificates from your country of nationality and from any country where you've lived for a substantial period. Under Decreto 366/2025, any criminal conviction—even minor—can trigger deportation, making this requirement non-negotiable.
Health Insurance
You must obtain private health insurance providing full coverage in Argentina for your entire intended stay. As of July 2025, all foreign visitors must present valid health insurance with a minimum coverage of $20,000. While enforcement has been minimal as of early 2026, this is now a legal requirement.
Passport Validity
Your passport must have a minimum validity of 6 months from your date of entry into Argentina and at least one blank page (two sides) available.
