Document Authentication and Translation
All documents issued in a foreign country must be legally certified and translated into Spanish. For any official documents from abroad (background checks, birth certificates, marriage certificates), you must obtain an Apostille of The Hague. All documents not originally in Spanish must be translated by a certified public translator and then "legalized" by the Colegio de Traductores (Translator's Association). Budget $20–40 per page for certified translations.
