Because the SCV is granted at the border, the documentation requirements are minimal but strict:
- Valid New Zealand Passport: This is the primary requirement for entry and visa grant.
- Incoming Passenger Card (IPC): You must complete this card accurately upon arrival. Answering "Yes" to questions regarding criminal convictions will trigger a manual character assessment.
- Proof of Prior Convictions (if applicable): If you have a criminal record, you should carry official court documents or police certificates. It is strongly recommended to contact the Australian High Commission before traveling if you have any convictions to avoid being turned away at the border.
