Documents Required
All documents must be submitted digitally through the MIGRIS system. Foreign-issued documents must be Apostilled or legalized and accompanied by a certified Lithuanian translation.
Identity and Background
- Valid Travel Document: A passport valid for at least two years.
- Police Clearance Certificate: An official document from your current country of residence (and any country where you lived for more than six months in the last two years) confirming you do not have a criminal record.
- Health Insurance: Proof of coverage valid in Lithuania with a minimum value of €30,000.
Proof of Ancestry
- The "Chain" of Documents: You must provide birth certificates for yourself, your parents, and/or your grandparents to clearly link you to the Lithuanian ancestor.
- Evidence of Ethnicity: Documents explicitly stating the "Lithuanian" ethnicity of your ancestor. This can include:
- Old internal or foreign passports.
- Military service records.
- Extracts from state archives or church registers.
- A Certificate of Lithuanian Descent (if you have previously obtained one, this serves as primary proof).
Supporting Evidence
- Proof of Funds: Bank statements or employment contracts showing you meet the minimum subsistence requirements.
- Written Declaration: A signed statement confirming your Lithuanian self-identification.
