Are you the parent, grandparent, or legal guardian of an adult New Zealand citizen or resident?
Documents Required
While you do not need to provide all evidence at the EOI stage, you must have these documents ready once you receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA):
- Identity Documents: Valid passports and two recent passport-sized photographs for all applicants.
- Relationship Evidence: Full birth certificates proving the relationship between the parent and the sponsor. For grandparents or guardians, death certificates of the parents are required.
- Sponsor’s Financial Proof: Official Summary of Income or tax assessments from the New Zealand Inland Revenue (IRD) for the required two-year period.
- Sponsor’s Residency Proof: Evidence of the sponsor’s New Zealand citizenship or residence status and proof of physical presence (e.g., utility bills, employment records).
- Health and Character Records: Medical certificates and chest X-rays (less than 3 months old) and police certificates from your country of citizenship and any country where you have lived for 12 months or more in the last 10 years.
- Certified Translations: Any document not in English must be accompanied by a translation from a certified translator.
