Documents needed
Family certificates and recordsFamily certificates and records
Marriage certificate
Provide your marriage certificate, also called a Nikahnama. This route is for a married spouse; an unmarried partner does not qualify on that basis alone.
Spouse's citizenship records
Provide your Bangladeshi spouse's machine-readable passport, e-passport, national identity card, online birth-registration certificate or citizenship certificate. One of these records can show their Bangladeshi citizenship.
Relationship affidavit
Your Bangladeshi spouse must provide an affidavit stating your relationship. If your mission has its own form or sample, use that version.
Considerations
Things to think aboutThings to think about
Passport and endorsement
Travel with the valid passport containing your endorsement; you need a new endorsement in a new passport.
The listed application fee is US$80 or equivalent.
If you are the foreign spouse of a Bangladeshi-origin citizen, your spouse must also provide an affidavit for a transfer.
Endorsement can end
Your endorsement ends when its passport expires.
False documents, failed checks, breaches of immigration conditions or other legal grounds may lead officials to take action affecting your endorsement or stay.
