Things to think aboutThings to think about
Limits on local work
Your stay is for its approved purpose, and you must not work outside your authorisation.
This permission alone does not authorise a local job.
Registration and insurance
Register your address with the police within 30 days of your stay being granted or the relevant long-stay visa.
You must keep the required travel document and health insurance, unless an insurance exception applies.
Renewal deadline
To extend your stay, request an extension no later than 60 days before it expires.
If you apply before expiry, you may stay until the extension decision becomes enforceable.
Time outside Croatia
For a stay of up to one year, absences over 90 days in total or 30 days at once can cost you your stay.
For a stay of up to two years, the limits are 180 days in total or 60 days at once.
Exceptions and procedures for justified reasons apply.
Stay can be lost
Your stay ends on expiry unless extended, or if you ask to cancel it.
It can be withdrawn if conditions end, you stay for another purpose, fail to register or exceed absence limits.
It can also be withdrawn over an applicable entry or stay ban, a relevant shared border alert, or a family-reunification marriage or partnership that was not genuine.
