Report your Hungarian accommodation through Enter Hungary within three days of arrival. Keep the electronic accommodation certificate.

Collect your White Card as the authority instructs you. It lets you stay in Hungary for your approved remote-work purpose.

Documents needed

Proof of income
Provide bank statements for the previous six months and/or a certificate from your employer or tax office. The evidence must show legal income after tax of at least €3,000 each month for the six months before entry, and that this income will continue during your stay in Hungary.
Proof of healthcare
Provide proof that you are entitled to Hungarian social security or to healthcare under an international agreement. Alternatively, provide documents showing that you have enough money to pay all your healthcare costs.
Copy of your passport
Provide a full copy of your valid passport and have the original ready for inspection. It must be valid for at least three months beyond the end of the permit you request. If you apply at a consulate outside your country of nationality or usual residence, add proof that you are there lawfully and explain why you are applying there.
Passport photo
Provide one photograph of your face.
Proof of accommodation
Provide a lease, a document showing you can stay with someone, or a document showing you own your accommodation in Hungary. You can instead provide an accommodation reservation with proof that it has been paid for.
Proof of onward travel
Provide a valid passport, valid travel tickets, or proof that you have enough money to pay for your departure or onward travel.
Application forms
For a paper application, submit the residence permit application form and the White Card appendix. For an online application or extension, complete the relevant application in Enter Hungary. If someone handles the procedure for you, add the document authorising them to do so.
Employer's statement *
Get an authentic or certified statement from your employer confirming your employment and that the business is genuinely operating. It must describe the business, your job and duties, and the permission for you to work remotely, including how long that permission lasts.

Provide records showing that the company is registered abroad, is genuinely operating and makes a verified profit, and that you own a share. Include records describing its activities and your duties, position or management role. These can include registration records, an official document or tax office certificate showing regular income or profit, and other reliable evidence.
