Things to think aboutThings to think about
Home and deposit
You must keep the required home and fixed deposit.
You generally cannot sell the home for 10 years unless you upgrade to a more expensive home.
From the second year, you can withdraw an approved part of the deposit for housing, your children’s education or medical expenses.
You must keep the required balance until your participation ends.
Pass and health documents
Renew your pass on time and keep a valid passport.
If your passport expires first, transfer or renew the pass endorsement in your new passport.
You and your dependants must have the specified medical check-up after approval.
Renewal requires a current medical report and health insurance, as well as the required documents and fees.
Time in Malaysia
If you are aged 21–49, you generally must spend at least 90 days a year in Malaysia.
The days are cumulative and can be counted between you and/or your spouse and dependants.
There is no annual minimum for participants aged 50 or over.
Work and business limits
With Gold, Silver or SEZ/SFZ, you cannot work or conduct business under this pass.
You must obtain the appropriate employment or business pass instead.
Pass can end
Your pass ends if it expires without renewal, and the immigration authorities can cancel it for breaking its conditions or Malaysian immigration law.
You can also choose to end it, including to withdraw the whole fixed deposit or change to another Malaysian pass.
A dependant can end their own pass without automatically ending yours.
After the pass is cancelled, you have no right to remain in Malaysia through it.
