Wait for the decision
Wait for Migraciones to decide your application and respond if it asks for more information. Once your application is accepted for processing, temporary pending status lets you work, study and leave and re-enter Paraguay while that status is valid.

Get your residence card
Once your application is approved, follow the migration office's instructions to receive or collect your temporary residence card. It documents your permission to live in Paraguay for the period granted, up to two years.

Things to think aboutThings to think about
Keeping residence current
Extend your residence before it expires; leaving Paraguay with an expired residence card can lead to a fine.
Holders must also follow the conditions of their declared address and lawful activity, as well as immigration rules.
Residence can end
Residence expires if not extended and can be cancelled for false documents, fraud, sham arrangements or breaking immigration rules.
It can also be cancelled at the holder’s request or for an unjustified absence of more than one year without prior permission.
After cancellation, holders must leave by the deadline set or they may be expelled.
