Before marrying, you and your Singapore-citizen partner can jointly complete the free Pre-Marriage Long-Term Visit Pass Assessment online. A positive result does not replace the pass application, but it may shorten the wait for a decision.

If you submitted the optional assessment, wait for the result. If it is positive, keep the Letter of Long-Term Visit Pass Eligibility to submit with your application after marriage; the letter is valid for one year.

After you marry, your Singapore-citizen spouse signs in with Singpass and fills in your Long-Term Visit Pass application online. Your spouse is your sponsor.

Submit your application
Your spouse uploads the required documents and submits your application online. Your spouse also pays the non-refundable S$45 application fee online at submission.

Wait for the decision
Wait for the result by email and respond if the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority asks you or your spouse for more information or documents. You or your spouse can also check the application status online.

Complete the required formalities
If approved in principle, follow your approval letter and sign in to the online service to complete the requested tasks before the approval expires. The letter is not a pass, so you need a valid immigration pass while completing the formalities in Singapore.

Submit any required forms
Upload the completed documents requested in the online service, including a medical examination report if one is required.

Pay the issuance fee
When notified, pay the S$60 pass issuance fee online by the deadline given. If a Multiple Journey Visa is required, pay the additional S$30 fee.

Attend if required
After paying, download the letter to see whether you need to attend the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority Services Centre. If a visit is required, attend at the stated date and time, or reschedule online if necessary.

Retrieve your digital pass
Once your pass is issued, follow the email instructions to retrieve it through FileSG, or get it through the Singpass app. Your Long-Term Visit Pass lets you reside in Singapore for its period of validity.

Provide your birth certificate or household register if ICA asks for it. If you or your Singaporean spouse was adopted and ICA asks for adoption papers, provide those too.

Provide the applicable deed poll or religious certificate recording the name change. Include the records for both of you if applicable.

Provide the certificate for your marriage to your Singaporean spouse. Keep the original ready in case ICA asks to see it.
