Documents needed
Family certificates and recordsFamily certificates and records
Family relationship document
Bring the document showing that you are your spouse or partner’s family member under the law of your country of origin. For a married couple, this is normally your marriage certificate; the office will return the original and certify a copy.
Partner's residence permit
Your spouse or partner must personally submit their valid Ukrainian temporary residence permit. The office will return the original and certify a copy. If your spouse or partner qualifies under the military service alternative, bring the applicable service contract and military or service identity document instead or as the office directs.
Considerations
Things to think aboutThings to think about
Residence documents
Normally, apply to exchange your permit at least 15 working days before it expires.
If less time remains, a special submission route may let you stay lawfully while your application is considered.
Keep and carry valid identity and travel documents.
Residence can end
Your stay can end if your permit expires without a lawful exchange, your family basis ends or your host loses their qualifying status.
Your permit can be cancelled for false documents or information, an entry ban, security or public-order reasons, or other legal grounds.
Leaving or staying in breach of immigration rules can also put your status at risk.
