Things to think aboutThings to think about
Residence card exchange
Your residence card lasts 10 years and must be exchanged when it expires, becomes unusable, has an error or your personal details change.
Apply for an expiry exchange at least 15 working days before the card expires.
Departure after residence ends
If your residence is revoked or declared invalid, you must leave Ukraine by the deadline in the return decision.
You may be forcibly removed if you do not leave, unless you successfully challenge the decision in court.
Residence can be lost
Residence can end if you ask, become a Ukrainian citizen, receive a final sentence over one year in Ukraine, threaten security or public order, or break rules for foreigners.
It can also end to protect health or citizens' rights, or on other legal grounds.
It can be invalid if obtained with knowingly false information, forged or expired papers, or papers that did not prove a basis that still existed.
