Apply for permanent residence
Go in person to the migration service’s SUACE office with your investor certificate and residence application documents, and sign the declaration the office prepares. Pay the residence fee there and ask the office how to pay it.

Receive your residence card
Once your application is approved, receive your permanent residence card. The card must be renewed every 10 years.

Apply for an identity card
Use your residence card to apply for a Paraguayan identity card through the Police Identification Department. You can then use your identity card as Paraguayan identification.

Things to think aboutThings to think about
Residence card renewal
You must renew your permanent residence card every 10 years, including to renew or update your Paraguayan ID.
Update your personal or work details when they change, with supporting documents.
Residence can be lost
Residence can be cancelled for false documents, fraud or fake arrangements used to obtain it, breaking immigration rules, or at your request.
It is also lost after more than 3 consecutive years outside Paraguay without justification, unless the period is extended.
After cancellation, you must leave by the deadline and may be expelled; recovery requires meeting the legal requirements again.
